Product Details
These South Dakota Goldback foil notes contain 1/20 oz of .999 fine gold. Goldbacks are the first local, voluntary currency to be made of a spendable, beautiful, physical gold.
Goldbacks resemble standard paper currency in shape but are made with thin layers of 24-karat gold. Initially introduced in Utah following the Utah Legal Tender Act of 2019, they serve as a voluntary currency, allowing transactions at the vendor's discretion. Since then, additional states—Nevada, New Hampshire, and Wyoming—have each launched their own Goldbacks in subsequent years, with South Dakota recently becoming the fifth state to adopt this unique form of currency.
